How to Draw Pokémon: Bulbasaur | Step-by-Step Easy Tutorial

Bulbasaur is one of the most popular Pokemon in the world. Drawing him couldn't be more fun because of how simple he is and how easy it can be to get the proportions correct. 

Make your sketch lines loose and light so they're easy to erase later on.

His head faces at an angle and there are a few techniques to help you draw the facial features more accurately: use a reference, look at your face in the mirror, or draw a face on a little ball and rotate it to your desired angle. Watch how the facial features change shape and size depending on how far they're facing away from the viewer.

Once you have your basic shapes. add in the details: the hexagonal spots on his skin, the spikes on his bulb, and the tiny fangs.

Grab a marker or a pen (whichever you prefer) to ink the final lines of the drawing. Go very smoothly because you won't be able to erase it if you make any mistakes at this point. 

Erase the pencil lines when the ink gets dry.

If you followed the basic process, you should be ready to color Bulbasaur.

Start with the flat colors and work your way to the shadows and highlights.
