Let's draw the Water-type Starter Pokémon, Squirtle in 3D! Follow this step-by-step drawing lesson to learn techniques that professional artists use! You'll be able to sketch, ink, and color!

Learn how to draw Squirtle, the water-type starter Pokémon from the first generation. Follow this step-by-step tutorial from sketching all the way to inking and coloring.

Make sure to watch the video above for detailed drawing instructions on drawing Squirtle.

Squirtle is one of the very first starter Pokémon from the Kanto region.

When you're going for a Blastoise in the game/s, then you'd have to pick a Squirtle in the beginning.

Squirtle's (and Wartortle's) tail is a reference to the minogame, a turtle in Japanese legends, which grew a tail made of seaweed.

Similar to real turtles, Squirtle's shell can be used for protection or to sleep.

Draw cartoons like Pokémon by starting with the very basic shapes. Lightly draw the basic structure of Squirtle's head, body, arms, legs, and tail.

Most of the shapes are rounded and almost the only parts that are pointed are its toes and fingers.

Follow the basic process in the video and you should be able to show your Squirtle masterpiece to your friends!
